After the trauma of Hurricane Sandy, I noticed how my neighborhood of little bungalows was replaced with modern condos and strangers. Since it no longer felt like home, I moved away to Boston. After unpacking my supplies in my new studio, I just stared at the scraps  that I had collected from destroyed homes after the hurricane. These little pieces were spread across my workbench and I cried. They were so subtle and useless; yet, they could never be thrown them away. Those Sandy wood scraps still held memories. I stacked and glued the pieces into building-like sculptures.
