Artist Statement:
"All Trees of Wood Shout for Joy" is a sculptural work that delves into our complex and fragile relationship with the natural world. This piece captures my perception, memory, and experience of walking in the forest. The wood I selected was in a state of transformation, shaped by the forces of time, weather, insects, and animals. I collected this wood to preserve it—to hold onto a trace of its former vitality and delay its inevitable decay. As viewers move around the piece, they engage with it as both a physical and visual experience. The tactile qualities—whether inviting or unsettling—are essential. I seek to preserve a sense of touch with nature, inviting people to reconnect with the natural world before it slips beyond our reach.
