From March 15 through April 11, I will be at Gettysburg National Military Park Project, where I will sew a traditional Civil War inspired fabric quilt using military uniforms. Since I was seventeen, I have been sewing quilts. I am drawn to quilts because they are symbols of hope and infused with meaning--political, communal, familial, and personal. My two master’s degrees are in fashion design and studio arts. This is the first time that I will be sewing a fabric quilt to be displayed. I am so excited to be living on the battlefield and revisiting sewing!
